You guys….I wasn’t ready. I never thought of all the companies floating around social media and the internet, that in the quest for size inclusive swimwear, we’d be talking about Walmart! But here we are, and I am so excited to share my style guide for summer swimsuits for EVERY body at Walmart!
This isn’t a sponsored post. I did all this work, and added all these links to make this as easy as possible for y’all, and it’s just because I’m that impressed!
In fact, if you know me at all, you know I do not like Walmart. This isn’t some pretentious statement, so much as every experience I have there is tainted by craziness. For example, once a man asked me if I’d like to purchase “the best meth ever,” before I even got in the store. Once, a woman at the checkout scanned each and every item so slow, it was like watching the DMV sloth in the Zootopia movie, and then of course there’s the time someone’s Abuela literally SNATCHED a Cheetah Girls DVD out of my hands during the holidays, and I had to stalk her to get it back.
So…yeah. I prefer Target.
However, I’ve been seeing some of the cutest swimsuits on social media, and learned that they’re actually from-you guessed it-WALMART!
As luck would have it, I found myself in a pinch and having to stop by a Walmart, and decided to do a little try-on for my Instagram stories. An overwhelming majority of you were really feeling the looks, and when I asked how you’d like to see a blog post with more! And here at Curves and a Carry On, we aim to please!
So here are some of the cutest styles I found both in store, and online! Note: Some styles may have some variation from straight sizes (S to XL) and plus sizes (0X to 3X) like thicker shoulder straps, wider bands or higher waists, and a slight price variation. I am generally a size 16 or 1X bottom, and size 14 on top (XL or 1X depending on fit), for reference! My only complaint is that the plus sized swim bottoms only come in high waisted styles, and that’s largely my complaint with most plus sized swimwear…it’s not the most flattering style for girls like myself with long torsos…and it’s actually more flattering to have a lower cut bottom to balance out everything in most cases!
